Could you help us to help UNICEF?

The Blue Ribbon committee is a Ribble Valley based group raising funds for UNICEF (The United Nations Children’s Fund).

In 2009 Blue Ribbon Fundraising acheived its first goal of raising £110,000 to facilitate the distribution of vaccines in Ethiopia through the Cold Chain Project. There are new challenges ahead and in 2010 our aim is to raise funds for UNICEF's Malaria Net Campaign.

Every 30 seconds a child in Sub Saharan Africa dies from Malaria. UNICEF plans to provide an insecticide treated net to all children at risk by the end of 2010. It would be the single most effective strategy that could be implemented to improve child survival. We hope we can help them to do this. For less than £5 a net can be provided and a child protected. We will be holding a number of fundraising events this year. It would be fantastic if we could see you at any or all of them! We look forward to it.
