IBlue Ribbon Fundraising was set up in 2005 to raise funds for UNICEF.We are the only such group in the North West and our aim is to raise the profile of the charity in this region as well as raising much needed money for specific projects.
 
Our first major event in 2006 - our first Blue Ribbon ball - raised over £30 000 and by the time we had held our second ball in 2009 we had  surpassed our £100 000 target by £10 000 so enabling us to fund four cold chain stores in Ethiopia. These stores maintain vaccines at their optimum temperature so that they can then be distributed to some of the poorest children in the world.
 
Currently we are committed to raising funds to purchase malaria nets.
 
Our current committee is made up of Sheila Bailey [Chair] Anne Geldard [treasurer] and Anne Littley.
